Meridian Cable has the capabilities to custom design, extrude and manufacture all types of coil cords or coiled cables. This includes coil cords with retracted lengths from 2 inches to 4 feet, in diameters from 1/3 of an inch to 5 inches, and with conductor ranges from 10 to 34 gauge. Because we extrude our own materials, there is no limit to what we can manufacture. Our best in class coil cords are used worldwide in a broad range of applications. We work together with our customers to find the coil cord solution that fits their criteria. Whether you are looking for a coil cord or coiled cable with an expanded length of 20 feet with two-conductors and a PVC-jacket or a coiled cord with 10 conductors, a coaxial cable and a polyurethane jacket, you will find it at Meridian Cable. Function

Coil Cord Function

Coil cords can be manufactured in a range of functions—from a simple, flexible plastic connector to a coil cord with three dozen conductors. Other coiled cords can be made to carry power, signal or can be mixed-populated. We can also manufacture coil cords using twisted pair cables for high-speed data rates.

Coil Cord Performance

Meridian Cable, a leading coiled cable designer and manufacturer handles all housing and strain relief design and provides our customers with coiled cords that stand up to rigorous use. We have designed and tested coil cords that withstand 100,000 180- degree bend cycles, and coil cords that achieve 500,000 extension/retraction cycles without failure.

Coil Cord Materials

Coil cords & coiled cables are available in many engineered materials including PU, PTEE, TPR, SVO and SJOW. And we can also provide coil cords to your color specifications in a dull, matte or gloss finish. By adding a UV inhibitor to the jacketing material, the life of coiled cords can be extended for use in outdoor applications. Medical applications often require the use of non-volatile jacketing for bio-sensitive coil cords. Meridian Cable has a broad range of experience and can custom manufacture your coiled cable using the materials needed for your specific application.

We frequently work with customers that require coiled cords with high levels of mechanical strength or coil cords that cannot be cut. In these instances, Meridian Cable has the capabilities to use steel, Kevlar®, Spectra® or Teflon® for added strength.

Built To the Highest Industry Standards: UL-Certified, MIL Spec, and CSA

Whether you're in telecommunications, the medical field, or a different industry entirely, you need your cords to be reliable and consistent. Dependable cables can make the difference between successful connections and operations and disasters. But how do you know which cables are superior quality and which cables to avoid? The answer is simple; standards and certifications.

Our team is proud to hold multiple certifications and build our custom cable assemblies to the highest industry standards. We believe doing something right is the only way to do it. When our team creates a custom coil cable, cable assembly, or wire harness, we build it to be the best in the business.

Here's how you can trust Meridian Cable to build high-quality custom cables for your organization:

UL-Certified

UL has become an industry standard for mitigating risk in products, assuring quality, and verifying products across the industrial spectrum. A UL certification helps consumers know our products are up to snuff with functionality and quality. Certifying both products and facilities, UL is the gold standard when it comes to product testing.

Our crew is proud to hold multiple UL certifications and promises to continue to increase our certifications library.

MIL-Spec Approved

MIL-Spec Approved

MIL-SPEC is short for Military Specifications, meaning the US Military standard for engineering, design, functionality, and durability. Naturally, military specifications are extraordinarily stringent and rigorous. If something is built to MIL-SPEC, it is designed to hold up to military operations, standard engineering, and intense environments.

We design our cables for military applications down to the most exacting military specifications. Our products adhere to military-specific standards of quality and durability.

CSA Certification

CSA Certification

Because Meridian Cable adheres to CSA manufacturing standards. Unlike UL certifications, which only apply to the United States, CSA is recognized globally for industrial quality. CSA product testing, inspection, and certification are all highly credible Canadian standards for products, manufacturing, and facilities.

As we continue to grow and offer new products, you can rest assured we will pursue further certification for our cables. We maintain rigid industry standards to provide reliable, trustworthy products to our customers.

Bulk Coil Cord Customization in the USA

Custom Length

Customizing the length of your cable assembly is a vital step in adapting to your connection needs. Whether you're working with an indoor or outdoor space, precise measurements, and calculations should be taken to ensure you have the required length for your application while minimizing cable clutter.

Creating a custom length on a coiled cable involves precise measurements. Because of the curly design, custom-coiled wires cannot be measured like a traditional cable. As we build your cables, we'll go to great lengths to ensure we get the cut and size to the most precise measurement.

During the design phase of your custom cable assembly, our team will help determine the precise length your coil cables need to connect your equipment in an organized and hassle-free manner. With unshielded six inch leads on both ends, you can easily adapt the coil cord length to your project’s parameters. Our process strikes to balance between reach and organization to make your custom cable assembly just right.

Custom Jacket Color

The enemy of a successful cable organization is a lack of cable management. Customizing the jacket color can help reduce confusion, maintain organization, and foolproof your connections. When every cable has a unique color, it's easy to tell where it goes and its purpose. You can differentiate between multiple cables in a single assembly by providing a visual distinction, avoiding confusion about where it connects.

Custom jacket colors provide a quick setup and simplified troubleshooting when time is of the essence. In applications like the military or medical fields, every second counts. With custom colors, no one has to waste time determining which cable goes to which connection. Instead, the colorful design creates a foolproof system for making fast connections.

In many cases, custom cable jackets can also prevent errors and misconnections. When working with highly sensitive equipment, making the proper connections every time is essential. Custom colors help ensure correct connections.

Custom Conductor Colors

Much in the same way that custom cable jackets can provide organizational and professional benefits, custom conductor colors can lend themselves to an organized assembly. Custom conductor colors help reduce the confusion about which cable belongs to which connection. With custom coiled cables, assembly and connecting can be confusing. Custom conductor colors help eliminate the confusion by organizing the cables into distinct categories, purposes, and destinations.

Custom conductor colors also provide scalability for a developing system. By color coding each conductor in your coil cable assembly, your workspace has a built-in system to allow for growth and new equipment to be added in the future.

Best of all, custom lengths, jacket colors, and conductor colors can all be specified using the Custom Cable Form right from our site.
